MBACP Psychotherapist, COSRT Registered Member and Supervisor

I am a therapist who specialises in Sex and Relationships therapy seeing both individuals and couples. Are you experiencing sexual, psychological or emotional difficulties that are affecting your relationships, work, social life, family or health? In today’s world we may have worries and concerns that can stop us doing what we want to do and from being where we want to be. Therapy can help us to understand these barriers, whether current or historical, and to find a way forward, enabling us to achieve our goals and create a sense of wellbeing.

How can I help you?
As a psychotherapist and counsellor with more than 25 years’ experience working in the NHS:

• I encourage you to explore and better understand your experiences, concerns and goals.
• I work with you to help you expand the range of possibilities you believe you have in life.
• I can work with you on both emotional and psychosexual relationship issues.

I believe that a good work life balance is important in maintaining our individual wellbeing and allowing us to develop into the person we want to be to ourselves and others. I feel that I am able to bring my own life experiences and challenges to my work in a way that can enhance the therapeutic relationship.

Who do I work with?
I work with individuals and couples, from all walks of life, cultural backgrounds, religions and sexual orientations who find themselves in a difficult place and are uncertain of how to move forward to create change or resolve issues.

What is sex therapy?
For many people sex is an enjoyable fun and exciting part of their life, but for some it causes fear, pain and anxiety. In sex therapy, I work with you (and potentially your partner) to improve and change this situation by using exercises and talking therapy to enable you to reach a better understanding of your emotions, desires and needs and to achieve the experience you want in your sex life.

What is it like working with me?
I work in a humanistic, integrative way, which means that I align my approach to your personal preferences and goals rather than fitting your issues into a predetermined theory. My focus is on how you are living your life now and how you can feel more satisfied in the world.

Experience

Until the end of 2022 I worked for 25 years in the NHS in sexual health as a counsellor and for the last 3 years as the senior psychosexual therapist leading a team of psychosexual therapist within a NHS sexual health department.

Prior to my work in NHS I worked as a counsellor for the Rainbow Trust working with terminally ill children and their families in their respite centre. It was a challenging and rewarding experience to work alongside people at this difficult time in their lives before during and after the death of their child.

HIV has been apart of my life for many years both though work and in the passed volunteering for Surrey and East Hants AIDS helpline where I helped with training and volunteered for the phone service and home support.

For 15 years I coordinated the LGBTQ + group at St James Church in Piccadilly London offering a welcome to people of all faith and non within the Church of England.

Horse riding has always been my passion I ran my own stables and taught horse riding for 15 years and continue to be involved with horses and the countryside.
