BScHons, PGCert, PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
Hello, my name is Zoe. I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and have been working in mental health settings for over 10 years now, in a variety of private and NHS practices.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) aims to empower people to become their own therapists in their daily life. It works on the basis that the way that we think, what we do and how we feel all influence each other. And with support, we can break out of old patterns that are no longer serving us.
I believe that a strong therapeutic bond is key to lasting change, therefore my priority is to provide a safe, warm, non-judgmental space for you to visit each week. We work together as a team to reach your therapy goals, which means the sessions are ‘active’, engaging, sometimes humorous and always supportive.
We can work short-term (4-6 sessions) or longer term (20+ sessions) depending on the difficulties you are facing and what works best for you. I work with clients who are 18+.
I am registered with AXA, Aviva, Vitality, Cigna and WPA.
I have worked in the NHS for 7 years and currently work as a CBT Therapist in the NHS, supporting clients with a variety of different mental health disorders. In this role I am the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Champion for the service and run PTSD awareness training to other services. In my NHS role I provide supervision to other members of staff and I am involved in the development of therapeutic groups there.
Previous to this I worked in a private inpatient hospital for several years, as well as caring for elderly adults. I loved this experience and feel grateful for all the knowledge I gained during this time.
