Debbie Toksvig

MA Psychotherapy, UKCP, MBACP Psychotherapist

I am a qualified therapist with over twenty years of clinical experience. I’m qualified to work with individuals and couples and have trainings in both integrative and psychodynamic approaches.

Life can be overwhelming at times but I’m here to support you through any issues you may face. I have a warm and empathic manner and offer a safe and confidential space for you to explore your concerns with me. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and to cope with your unique challenges.

Sometimes our early experiences can have a powerful effect on shaping our view of the world as we develop and become adults. We can feel trapped by long held beliefs which may be unhelpful and lead to negative or damaging feelings and behaviours. We can also be affected by current situations, events and relationships. Thinking about past experiences alongside present issues often helps us to understand how difficulties have arisen and reflecting on these can help us to reassess the present and approach life’s challenges with greater resilience.

Experience

I have worked in the NHS, The Priory Hospital, for several mental health charities and in private practice. I have extensive experience working with LGBTQI+ identified clients and also many years’ experience of working with people in the entertainment industry and in high profile positions.
