Debbie Rushton

MBACP. BSc. FdSc.

Hello, my name is Debbie. I’m a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

You’ve already taken that huge brave step in dealing with the things that are troubling you by looking for support through counselling. It can be a daunting experience, but to take this first step takes courage no matter how short or long you wish your journey with me to be.

My key areas of experience are working with those dealing with life changing and life challenging experiences. Perhaps you have suffered a life changing event, a loss, a bereavement or a diagnosis – something that has perhaps left you feeling overwhelmed, lost, terrified, with a sense of hopelessness and loss of control.

How I work –

Finding a therapist you can trust is essential. I aim to build trust with you.

I provide a confidential and non-judgemental environment within which we work together to help you through whatever situation or circumstances you find yourself in. In our first session, I’d like to start to understand what has brought you to seek counselling and agree with you on how best we can move forward together.

My aim is to build trust enabling you to talk openly about how you truly feel, building your confidence and self-esteem as you start to feel completely seen and heard. This sets us on the path that enables you to make your own choices in life knowing you have made the right decisions for you.

This is a journey of empowerment and can provide life changing outcomes, it can be an emotionally difficult and challenging process. I’m here to listen and support your journey to find the answers you are looking for.

Key Areas of specialisation include;-

Depression, Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Feeling Sad, Low Self Esteem, Family issues, Low Confidence, Stress, Trauma, Affairs and Betrayal, Separation and Divorce, Bereavement, Loneliness, Emotional abuse, Sexuality and Domestic Violence.

Humanistic therapy, Person Centred Therapy.
