MBACP
Hi, my name is Pauline and I am a fully qualified counsellor, I am a registered member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics. My primary way of working is Person Centred which is a humanistic approach. We know ourselves better than anyone else, we ‘adapt’ to be accepted by others and we can end up pushing our true self so far back and this can bring up all sorts of emotions.
We can all experience anxiety, stress, depression, extreme emotions or have family or relationship issues. These can make us feel scared and alone. No matter how old we are, we can feel stuck or trapped by a situation, unable to move forward. No-one is alone in these feelings, I have lost count of the times someone has asked how I am and I’ve replied ‘I’m fine’, but I wasn’t, my stomach was in knots and my heart felt like it was being squeezed by a fist. Through counselling, I was able to work through my feelings without feeling judged or shamed, my counsellor didn’t tell me what I was feeling was right or wrong. She gave me a safe, calm and confidential space where I could explore what was going on for me.
I can give you that space, a place where, together, we can seek to understand what is going on for you and help you to identify your strengths to empower you to move forward. You may find you only need a few sessions, you may find you need more, but that is your decision, it is about what you want or need.
Following qualifying in 2021 I volunteered with Wiltshire MIND up until February 2023, alongside this I worked in private practice.
