Rav Garrett

BSc(Hons), Psych Coun, Dip HE, MBACP, GMBPsS Counsellor and Psychotherapist

I offer a warm, empathic and non-judgemental space where you can explore difficult thoughts, feelings and life experiences at your own pace. I understand that reaching out for support can feel daunting, and I aim to create a safe and supportive environment where you feel heard, understood and accepted.

My approach is rooted in humanistic principles and is primarily person-centred, meaning that therapy is guided by you and your unique experiences. I believe that when people are offered genuine empathy, compassion and acceptance, they can begin to understand themselves more deeply and move towards meaningful change.

I may also draw on psychodynamic ideas to gently explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions and relationships, helping you make sense of how past experiences may be influencing challenges in the present.

I aim to support you in developing greater self-awareness, understanding your emotional world and finding healthier ways of relating to yourself and others. We will work collaboratively to help you reconnect with your sense of self, build resilience and move towards a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.

Alongside my training, I work with young people in an educational setting, supporting students experiencing a range of emotional and personal challenges. This has given me valuable insight into the pressures people may face within their personal lives, relationships and sense of identity.

I am particularly passionate about making counselling more accessible and inclusive for people from diverse and underrepresented communities. I am committed to practising in an anti-discriminatory and culturally sensitive way, recognising the importance of understanding each person’s unique background and lived experience.

I am currently undertaking doctoral training in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and the British Psychological Society. My work is guided by professional ethical frameworks, regular clinical supervision and reflective practice.
