BSc MSc MBPsS PGDip CPsychol
I have many years’ experience assessing and treating different client groups with psychological difficulties, in the NHS and Non-profit organisations, both in the UK and overseas. I have a strong interest in research and therapeutic outcomes. I remain involved in research (i.e. leadership, development and training), and have undertaken funded research leading to peer reviewed publications. I provide an evidence-based psychological treatment hence I use the most effective psychological interventions based upon the best scientific evidence available.
I work using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Systemic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) to treat a range of psychological disorders (Depression, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Phobias, Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Social Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive disorder (OCD), Illness Anxiety Disorder, Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), Sleep problems, Stress). In addition, I also provide support for clients with range of difficulties such as: Addictions, Bereavement, Bullying, Issues related to identity and culture, Personality Disorders, Relationship difficulties, Self-Esteem difficulties and Sexual difficulties. I also offer Cognitive, ADHD & ASD Assessments for children, adolescents and adults.
I also have skills and interests in the areas of Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT), including co-facilitating behavioural family work sessions with young people diagnosed with eating disorders and their families. While working in a residential rehabilitation setting, I developed skills in psychodynamic and systemic models, which has enhanced my competence in formulation and multi-modal working.
When working with clients I tend to be quite practical in my approach, often taking the work I do outside of the therapy room where we can make changes using the behavioural experiments.
Polish as well as English spoken.
