I offer counselling and psychotherapy for adults and young people aged 16+, providing both short-term and long-term therapy in a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space. I’m based at the Farnham Eaves, where I mainly see clients on Thursday evenings, although I do have some availability on Fridays during the day as well as other weekday evenings for appointments. I can also offer sessions at the Guildford Eaves, subject to availability.
How therapy could help you:
For over 20 years, I’ve worked alongside people in a variety of supportive roles, and one thing has remained constant: I believe the right person, at the right time, can make all the difference. Everyone has their struggles. I’ve had mine too. What drives me is the belief that people can grow, heal and reconnect with themselves when they have the right support.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You might be feeling anxious, low or overwhelmed, struggling with relationships, navigating grief or life changes, questioning your identity, or carrying experiences from the past that continue to affect you. Or maybe life simply doesn’t make sense anymore. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to have all the answers or know where to begin.
I don’t see my role as fixing people or telling them what they should do. You are the expert on your own life. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you understand yourself more deeply and supporting you to make choices that feel right for you.
I’m honest and direct, but always with warmth and compassion. I use humour where it helps create connection, and I believe therapy should feel like a conversation between real people, not a clinical performance. Sometimes that means using plain language – or even the occasional swear word – because authenticity matters.
I listen to understand, not to judge. Rather than asking only, “What happened to you?” I’m curious about “What did you need to do to survive?” We all develop ways of coping that make sense at the time. Therapy offers the opportunity to understand those patterns with compassion, recognise the purpose they once served, and decide whether they’re still helping you today.
My approach:
As an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches. Where it feels appropriate, I may also use creative approaches, mindfulness or body-based techniques. Everything we do is collaborative and tailored to you.
Whether this is your first experience of therapy, or you’ve had counselling before, my aim is to offer a space where you can be honest, feel genuinely heard, and don’t have to pretend.
Peace of mind:
I’m a registered member of the BACP and hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I work within the BACP Ethical Framework, attend regular clinical supervision, and undertake ongoing professional development. I believe good therapy starts with a therapist who is committed to their own growth as well as their clients’. I work with adults and young people from diverse backgrounds and welcome clients from all walks of life.
What’s next?
Finding the right therapist matters. I offer a free 20-minute, no-obligation initial phone call. It’s an opportunity for us to talk about what’s brought you to therapy, answer any questions, and see whether working together feels like the right fit. If it doesn’t, that’s okay too – because I genuinely believe therapy works best when the relationship is right.
Above all, I hope you come away thinking, “This is a real person who genuinely wants to help, and I can be myself with them.”
If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to hear from you. You can get in touch by phone, text or email, and we’ll take it from there.
Experience
I previously volunteered as a counsellor at Mindspace Foundation, a community interest company, supporting clients ranging in age from teens to older adults, in both short and long-term therapy, facing problems such as relationship difficulties, anxiety, grief, identity issues, suicidal thoughts and life transitions.
I have also volunteered as a counsellor at Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care, supporting bereaved relatives coming to terms with the loss of a loved one. Here I developed knowledge and skills in working with loss and readjustment following a change in life circumstances.
In addition to counselling experience, I have worked for over 20 years in social services and secondary school settings, supporting people during some of their most challenging times. This taught me compassion, respect for others, empathy and how to connect with people from all walks of life..
I am currently undertaking a level 7 diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy.
