Welcome to my profile, I am Louise and Tranquil Counselling is my private practice where I provide  counselling in Farnham and Basingstoke.

I provide professional counselling and EMDR therapy for clients who need psychological therapy at an affordable cost. Tranquil Counselling also provides concessions for clients who are students, and whom are receiving state benefits or are on low incomes.

I aim to provide a confidential, caring, non judgemental safe space for clients to explore any issues they are experiencing. I apply my approach with empathy and a deep understanding of the client’s individual issues which are presented.

I have been a counsellor for nine years and have extensive experience working for the Cancer Services Department for NHS and MIND, as well as working with young people, and domestic violence survivors.

Over the years, I have gained experience working on a long and short term basis with interventions tailored for the individuals needs. My approach is that every person I work with is individual and unique to counselling. I work to the client’s needs and issues and alter my approach to suit the needs of the client.

I work with adults, adolescents and children aged 14+. I also offer EMDR therapy.

My experience whilst training involved working with young people aged 11-25 for a charity in Basingstoke providing short term counselling, with issues such as; self harm, bullying, depression, cyber bullying, peer pressure, stress at school etc. Whilst in this role I obtained an opportunity to work in a secondary school providing short term counselling to students.

I have also worked for the Basingstoke and North Hampshire Foundation Trust providing counselling for patients who were having treatment or palliative care for cancer related illnesses. Within this role I also provided counselling for the families of the cancer patients on a short term basis within the hospital.

During this time, I attended training for BRASAC, Basingstoke Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre where I gained knowledge in supporting rape and sexual assault clients and signposting for clients whom had experienced an awful violent assault.

I have experience working at Westminster at MIND with clients who had complex issues and specialist clients from the borough of Chelsea and Kensington. I worked on a short and long term basis accepting referrals via IAPT and working with CORE and Corenet systems.
