About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified Accredited Counsellor and Psychotherapist with 24 years’ experience, working mainly with CBT, CBTi for sleep, integrative therapy, person centred and trauma interventions.

Until recently I have worked as Head of Mental Health for a large occupational health organisation providing specialist psychotherapy services for the workplace, working with the NHS, Ambulance Trusts, Police, Universities, Councils, GP’s, and other public sector organisations. In addition, I worked with large blue-chip organisations along with smaller bodies.

I have sat on a number of professional bodies advising and developing mental health strategies.

The issues that I specialise in cover anxiety depression work stress unresolved trauma, relationship problems, bereavement, anxiety, anger, abuse, and depression.

This can be achieved either by face-to-face discussion or over telephone or video.

I currently operate a fully confidential service online. This facility enables me to provide therapy internationally. For face-to-face discussions I have access to confidential consulting rooms in Petworth Arundel and Haslemere.

As part of my clinical work, I have access to a broad group of associate consultants including private psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, consultant.

Practice description

I provide in depth assessment and treatment for a range of psychological and emotional problems.

I work with clients who have complex needs. I will help you create your own coping strategies that work for you. My reputation in the field of mental health is extensive.

Many of the patients I have supported have suffered with stress at home or at work. Other issues include bereavement, chronic anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, self-harm, OCD, trauma, suicidal thoughts, addiction, and physical and psychological pain.

Drawing from my training and experience, I use a range of psychological techniques resulting in a high recovery rate, enabling patients to achieve lasting and positive change.

Training, qualifications & experience

BACP registered and accredited since 2006. I am a registered accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I adhere to their ethical framework. I undertake regular supervision and frequently attend professional workshops and further training for my own continued personal development.

Behavioural, Brief therapy, CBT, (Ken Lewis) CBT isleep, CBT for insomnia (Morgan and Tomery London), PTSD (IMPACT) training, Eclectic, Emotionally focused therapy, Integrative, Person centred, Psychodynamic, (Chester) Mindfulness, I am also an advanced mediator.

My first session

I specialise in CBT. Our initial meeting is important. It will give me a good understanding of what is happening in your life, and how we can work together, and what you want to achieve from our sessions. We will work out how to best bring about the changes you desire.

I will do this by using my extensive clinical experience and knowledge, with a thoughtful and emotionally intelligent compassionate approach to you.

Following our initial discussion, we will work together to decide the next step to create a strategy that works for you. I will help you build on this to ensure that work that you do with me is long lasting and empowers your future. This will be done sensitivity to suit your individual needs and at a pace that you feel comfortable with.
