Hello. My name is Kate and I help people lead happier, more authentic lives.
What can I do for you?
There are times in everyone’s life when we could benefit from the uniquely powerful support of therapy. Maybe you’re struggling with a toxic relationship, breakup or bereavement. Maybe you’re looking for courage to explore your past or navigate a big life transition. Or perhaps you want to finally break free from perfectionism and people-pleasing. Therapy gives you the time and space to process your emotions, consider new possibilities and make lasting, positive changes.
How do I do it?
I work as an integrative psychotherapist which is a modern, flexible form of therapy and means I use a variety of evidence-based techniques to support your mental health. For instance, I may draw on CBT principles to help you break through bad habits or existential theory to dig deeper into who you are and your sense of purpose.
The best predictor of effective therapy is a strong, trusting client-therapist relationship. It’s something we build together, because we are all different. I check-in regularly about what feels right and what might need to change: do you need more reflection or more challenge, can we work with mood cards or visualisation? I don’t just listen – my aim is to give you tools and support to make positive changes in your life.
The most important thing for me is that you feel seen, heard and understood for who you really are. I’m passionate about the importance of self-compassion and embracing vulnerability and imperfection to living a richer, more authentic life. My style is empathic, warm and honest, often with a healthy dose of humour.
Experience
Prior to retraining as a psychotherapist, I worked as a journalist and writer in London, specialising in health and beauty, which brings a breadth of lived experience and creativity to my approach.
I am proud to have been part of the Affordable Counselling Service at The Eaves, supporting clients with a range of issues including anxiety, panic attacks, neurodiversity, bereavement, attachment and relationship difficulties.
I am also a Listener for The Samaritans, a cause very close to my heart.
