Saskia Wills

MBABCP, MSc, PgDip, Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Psychotherapist

Hello, I’m Saskia. I’m a CBT therapist with over 10 years’ experience supporting adults with their mental health. I offer a warm, compassionate and practical approach, creating a space where you can feel understood while also having the opportunity to make meaningful changes.

I support adults experiencing anxiety (including panic attacks, health anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder), depression, stress and burnout, low self-esteem, perfectionism, sleep difficulties and difficulties associated with long-term health conditions. I am qualified to deliver trauma-focused CBT for post-traumatic stress disorder and I have further training in working with neurodiverse adults.

CBT is the main approach I use. It can help us understand the patterns that may be keeping difficulties going and identify new ways of thinking and responding. I also draw on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), where these approaches are helpful.

I believe therapy should be collaborative and tailored to you. We will work together to understand what is happening, identify what you would like to be different, and develop practical strategies that you can use in your everyday life. I aim to provide a supportive, non-judgemental environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself and work at a pace that feels manageable for you.

Experience

Alongside my private practice, I have worked in NHS mental health services throughout my career. As a result, I have developed extensive experience supporting adults with a wide range of mental health difficulties.

Most recently, I worked as an Advanced CBT Therapist within an NHS Talking Therapies service, having previously worked for 3 years in the same service as a qualified and trainee therapist.

Before specialising in CBT, I worked in a range of NHS mental health roles, including as a service manager within a secondary care Community Mental Health Team, community psychiatric nurse, inpatient psychiatric nurse and inpatient psychiatric healthcare assistant.

This breadth of experience has given me a deeper understanding of mental health and the different factors that can affect a person’s wellbeing. It has also allowed me to develop extensive experience working with adults experiencing both common and more complex mental health difficulties.
