My approach is gentle, holistic, humanistic and person centred. We can work together to help you feel more grounded, settled and able to move forward with your life and purpose.
I trained in psychotherapy using the arts (Art Therapy) which encourages the integration of many therapeutic interventions which can include the Arts when and where appropriate. The Arts are a very powerful means of tapping into the unconscious (using drawing/painting, clay, puppetry, sand-tray, music, drama, writing and movement). The arts can gently help you to express how you are feeling in an alternative way, and possibly uncover unconscious emotions that we may have tucked away that could be holding you back.
I also use person-centred therapy and CBT frameworks, with a strong grounding in psychodynamic, somatic, mentalisation and Polyvagal theories. I am training in Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) – a communication framework that models how people’s thoughts, language, and behavior patterns interact.
I am a Provider of ‘Support for Parents with Anxious Childhood Emotions’ – or SPACE. This is a program designed especially for parents to support them with children with adverse emotions (https://www.spacetreatment.net/).
I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation and we can decide together on a plan thereafter.
Experience
I have had over 4 years experience working with all ages & difficulties including anxiety, anger, grief, OCD, Neurodiversity, self harm and suicidal ideation.
I now work mainly with people individually (1:1) in person or online (ie. zoom/FaceTime) and also within groups (such as couples or families).
