MBACP Counsellor

I’m a qualified therapeutic counsellor offering talking therapy sessions in-person. I provide a safe, supportive space for you to explore whatever is going on for you right now.

We all go through difficult periods of time, which can show up as anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, low mood or feeling stuck. You may be navigating challenging life circumstances or simply have a sense that something doesn’t feel quite right for you in life at the moment.

I have experience working with clients going through a wide range of issues including: separation and divorce; complicated family dynamics; stressful work situations; menopause. traumatic health conditions; dealing with grief.

Counselling provides a space that is just for you, to pause and connect with yourself. Talking your situation through with someone who will really listen to you, without any judgement, can help you develop clarity and a sense of how to move forward, in a way that feels right for you.

My counselling work is focussed on the relationship I establish with my clients. I do my best to create an environment that feels calm, trusting, respectful and accepting for us to work within. I believe that you know yourself best and have the knowledge and potential to transform your life, you just need the right space to feel comfortable to talk and be listened to, in order to free yourself from whatever is holding you back.

I offer one-to-one counselling for adults (18+). Depending on how you feel, you can choose short-term support (6-12 weeks) or open-ended, longer-term work.

Experience

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in London for 20+ years in magazine publishing and the charity sector, predominantly running support services and mentoring schemes for charity leaders. This gave me huge insight into the pressures of work environments, alongside the day-to-day difficulties we are all experiencing in work and home-life.

I wholeheartedly believe in the process of therapy and that we all have it within us to let go of the stuff that is holding us back, we just need the right environment to start. I make it my priority to create a relationship that feels trusting and safe to talk and offload whatever is challenging you in order to help you move forward.

I continue to develop my counselling knowledge and practice through additional training, including:

• Supporting clients through separation and divorce
• Trauma-informed practice
• Using creativity in counselling
