Hello, I’m Helen. I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. This means that I have met the standard required by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and The British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (BABCP) to practise as a psychologist and psychotherapist. I am also a qualified EMDR practitioner, which is a particular approach that can be helpful for trauma experiences.
We can all experience times in our lives when things can feel too much, or we may become stuck. By working together in therapy we can help to understand what you are facing, work out what matters to you and try to find.
Experience
I have worked in independent practice since 2012, working mainly with people experiencing symptoms of trauma, anxiety and depression. I have also worked in the NHS for five years as a Highly Specialist Counselling Psychologist for a service with adults living with a learning disability, Autism and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Approach
My main approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

- Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Level 3 EMDR Practitioner
- Chartered Psychologist with the British Psychological Society
- Fully Accredited Member of The British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Therapy (BABCP).
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
