Nikki Chandler

MBACP, PGDip, BSc [Hons] Counsellor/Psychotherapist

Hello and thank you for looking at my page! I am Nikki, a qualified Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor/Psychotherapist offering a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings in depth at your own pace. My approach is deeply rooted in empathy, authenticity, and respect for your unique lived experience.

Alongside my counselling private practice, I bring additional clinical experience from several years working within the NHS as an Assistant Psychologist and Trauma-Informed Champion. This background has strengthened my understanding of how trauma, attachment, and life experiences can shape our emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of self.

In my approach, the relationship between counsellor and client is central, as is the theory that our relationship with our emotions is fundamental to our wellbeing. The experiential element means we don’t just talk about feelings — we gently explore and process them in the moment. This can help you connect more fully with your emotional experience, make sense of patterns, and develop greater self-awareness and resilience. Part of my experiential training means I can offer clients the opportunity to potentially integrate sand tray work into sessions where appropriate, providing a gentle yet powerful way to process difficult emotions that may feel overwhelming or hard to put into words. Sand tray therapy if used can help us to access and process deeper feelings safely, supporting insight, healing, and growth.

Whether you are struggling with anxiety, low mood, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or feeling stuck or overwhelmed, I will work alongside you collaboratively, helping you reconnect with your inner resources and resilience.

You do not have to face things alone. Choosing to begin therapy can feel like a big and sometimes daunting step, but it is often the first puzzle piece placed in the journey towards healing. Reaching out is a sign of courage — a recognition that you deserve support, understanding, and the opportunity for meaningful change, and I am ready to be here with you as you take these steps. I look forward to hearing from you and take care
