BA(Hons) MA Psychotherapist

“Dramatherapy is a form of psychotherapy. Clients are able to explore a wide variety of different issues and needs from autism and dementia to physical/sexual abuse and mental illness in an indirect way leading to psychological, emotional and social changes.” British Association of dramatherapy (BADth).

Dramatherapists are registered and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as Arts therapists, having undertaken a Masters level training with an approved course at a university.

Dramatherapy can be a talking therapy or can use creative methods, such as role play, writing and music. For more information on dramatherapy please read this short article I wrote for the Eaves:

Finding a therapist can feel overwhelming and confusing with lots of different types on offer. Therapy, for me, is based on creating a safe and trusting relationship. I offer a free 30 minute consultation so you can find out more about what I can offer and we can explore if I would be a good fit for you or your child/young person.

Experience

I have 20 years experience working with children and adolescents and over 10 years experience working as a therapist with children, adolescents and adults. I have experience working in the NHS, the charity sector and in mainstream and SEN schools. More recently I have been based primarily at a school for mild to moderate learning difficulties.
