I am a Psychodynamic/Psychotherapeutic Counsellor using Humanistic Approaches within my private practice “The Counselling Bay”. I offer therapy work with adults, young people, teenagers, children, groups, couples and family counselling on a face-to-face basis. I hold an MA in Educational Care & Therapy/Psychology plus multiple diplomas and certificates in various areas of psychotherapy and counselling.  My background is Psychology/Psychotherapy with 11 years in practice and 19 years of training and experience in psychotherapy and therapy.

I provide a safe, therapeutic, non-judgmental and confidential environment where you can talk freely and honestly about what is concerning you. Together, we can take the time to explore your thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours as well as reflecting on your life, relationships, work or school.

My Unique Specialties:

Anxiety, self-esteem, relationship issues, trauma, suicidal thoughts, relationships, bereavement, marital, coping skills, emotional disturbance, trauma, stress, addictions, suicidal attempts and learning disabilities. I have over 10 years experience working in therapeutic field with children and young people with Autism, Asperger’s, ADHD, OCD, Dyslexia, behavioural issues and coping skills.

I apply Drawing and Talking (D&T) Therapy to help children and adults to overcome trauma, anxiety and difficulties in relationships at home, school or work. D&T can help you to express your feelings in an easy-going non-judgmental way, allowing the full realisation of your social and academic potential.

My counselling sessions offer a Humanistic and Psychodynamic Approach which is designed to help individuals with a wide range of problems such as anxiety, addiction and eating disorders. Primarily used to treat depression, psychodynamic therapy can be particularly beneficial for those who have lost meaning in their lives or have difficulty forming or maintaining personal relationships and many different issues. I offer a safe place to explore your fillings, your relationship patterns and whatever going on in your life.

Whatever you are feeling now, I can say there is a light at the end of the tunnel.  Life can be tricky sometimes and you may think that people can’t understand you because of what you are going through. Sometimes you need someone to listen to you, to help you to understand what is actually happening. I can help you to walk through this journey, to find a way to a safe place towards healing and restoration which respects your values and beliefs. You can talk about any issues that bother you and explore your feelings without judgment. I have many years of training and experience in a broad range of topics in psychotherapy, counselling and educational therapy.

Counselling offers you a safe space to explore what is going on in your life. It’s your confidential space where you can freely talk, explore your past, present and future. Counselling is a journey which helps to explore and express feelings and emotions which begin healing and restoration of life. I have extensive experience of successfully counselling clients with a range of complex needs. This work has helped me to develop expert counselling skills and enhanced my interpersonal skills.

My clients have consistently reported substantial improvements in their wellbeing, as measured at the start and end of counselling.
