Chris Faulkner

Counsellor, Psychotherapist and Supervisor BA Counselling, PGCert Supervision MNCS (Accred.) MBACP

I am a qualified, accredited and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist with experience working in private practice at The Eaves in Farnham. I am an integrative therapist which means that I can offer a number of different therapies to suit each client, as each person is an individual and will have different needs.

I believe passionately that therapy can help to restore our internal equilibrium which can become disturbed following a major event or a number of smaller events at one time. Therapy can also help to heal scars left by events in the past that remain unresolved.

By placing you, the client, at the heart of the therapeutic encounter and walking alongside you, I can help and support you in finding a way to restore inner balance and peace.

What I offer

A warm, empathic, safe and judgment–free space which can allow you to explore your feelings and find a way forward that works for you.

The therapeutic offer can be short term counselling (6 to 26 sessions) for a specific issue or problem or longer-term (open ended) psychotherapeutic sessions for those who have unresolved issues from the past that are affecting their day to day lives in the here and now.

Sessions are offered face to face in a professional psychotherapeutic practice in Central Farnham.

As a native speaker of Spanish, I am also able to offer Spanish speaking therapy for the Hispanic community.

Experience

I initially trained as a bereavement and end of life counsellor and worked for three years at a local hospice supporting patients and their families who were faced with a serious life limiting illness or an end of life diagnosis.

With a background in Senior Management, I also specialise in supporting clients work through workplace issues, which can include bullying, harassment, redundancy and disciplinary issues, to name but a few.

I have also worked with an organisation called Co-Parenting Matters, helping individual family members going through a divorce or separation work toward co-parenting agreements.

In my private practice I work with a wide range of issues including self-esteem; trauma; addictions; personality disorders to name but a few. Extensive Experience in long term psychotherapy, supporting survivors of domestic and parental abuse. Extensive experience working with self-esteem and self-image issues.

I am also a qualified Clinical Supervisor and offer supervision to fellow professionals in a calm and professional environment.
