Hello, my name is Amelia. I understand that life can become overwhelming at times and I offer a warm and confidential space to work through life’s challenges. I am a counsellor and psychotherapist with a keen interest in working with anxiety and depression. I have also worked with various issues including trauma, low self-esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, disordered eating and relationship issues. I have supported clients who feel they have lost their sense of identity or feel uncertain of the way forward.
Every client is unique and therefore, as an integrative counsellor I adapt my approach to my clients’ individual needs, drawing on different ways of working.
I believe that a strong relationship between a therapist and client is incredibly important and I offer a non judgemental, compassionate space where your experiences will be heard and validated.
I understand that taking the first step isn’t easy and I offer a 20 minute, no obligation, free session to understand what it is that you want from therapy and answer any questions you may have.
Experience
Following a 10 year career in advertising and 5 years working in the special events team for a large charity, I retrained as an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.
As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I adhere to their code of Ethics. I have regular supervision and ongoing training to ensure I’m supported in my role and can offer the best possible support to you.
