I believe you are the expert on you and will base our work around where you wish to take it. I am a qualified counsellor with experience from working for counselling agencies in Berkshire and Surrey. Testimonials
“It’s made the week easier talking with Alan, getting to understand myself a bit more. I look forward to sessions”
“It’s helping me see things better, myself better, it’s doing what I need it to do. Providing me the tools needed for coping and ideas of what I need to be looking at.”
“I’m more content than I was. I’ve got better insight into myself and my thoughts. I think I’m less anxious and certainly a lot calmer”
“Being able to talk about things outside of my family to help me see what I’m thinking has been invaluable”
“I’m sleeping better, noticeably the last few weeks and feel calmer. Everything else I said in the past applies but these are recent. Talking through gives me a better insight and has helped”
Experience
I have been working as a counsellor at Sandhurst Counselling Service and Catalyst Support service in Surrey. I have worked with clients over long term (open ended) and shorter limited sessions.
I have worked with addictions, long term health conditions, relationship difficulties, self esteem, stress and more.
I spent many years working in a large engineering environment in aviation as an engineer. It was here where I supported many colleagues as a Wellbeing supporter and union rep. I have worked collaboratively with a large EAP developing wellbeing support in the workplace. This has given me a depth of life experience beyond the purely academic. I am drawn to counselling as a vocation and hope that will become apparent in our work together.
