Alan Clark

MBACP Counsellor

Hello, thanks for opening up my profile.

I am Integrative/ Person Centred counsellor. That means I draw on a number of different types of counselling and tailor them with you to help resolve what’s troubling you. For me the most important part of counselling is you. I will offer you a safe space to explore what you feel comfortable to bring to each session. There is no judgement and I offer you full autonomy.

I can work long or short term depending on your preference.

As part of my training I have undertaken personal counselling and am aware of how it might feel to take these steps. I believe the therapeutic relationship we build together will bring a sense of security and stability to help you with resolution.

Experience

I have been working as a counsellor at Sandhurst Counselling Service and Catalyst Support service in Surrey. I have worked with clients over long term (open ended) and shorter limited sessions.
I have worked with addictions, long term health conditions, relationship difficulties, self esteem, stress and more.

I spent many years working in a large engineering environment in aviation as an engineer. It was here where I supported many colleagues as a Wellbeing supporter and union rep. I have worked collaboratively with a large EAP developing wellbeing support in the workplace. This has given me a depth of life experience beyond the purely academic. I am drawn to counselling as a vocation and hope that will become apparent in our work together.
