Pilar Isla Rodriguez
GMBPSS Psychologist Psychotherapist
I am a Psychologist who practices as a dedicated Psychotherapist, committed to helping individuals achieve deep, lasting transformation. With over a decade of experience in the mental health industry, my work is built on clinical rigor, personal insight, and a profound commitment to your well-being.
My dedication to clinical excellence extends beyond my private practice, as I also serve as the Head of Wellss, a collaborative community of mental health professionals dedicated to fostering the highest standards of treatment.
My Approach: Analytical, Trauma-Informed, and Comprehensive
My clinical expertise is significantly shaped by over five years of experience in intensive inpatient settings focused on Eating Disorders and Addictions. This background has given me high proficiency in managing complex issues, group dynamics, and crisis intervention.
My practice is built on both evidence-based methods and a deep analytical approach. We work to explore the underlying emotional and psychological roots of your struggles to achieve sustainable change.
Areas of Specialization
While I have high-level training in diverse areas, I offer particular expertise in:
Body Image, Disordered Eating, and Eating Disorders: Guiding you toward a peaceful, sustainable relationship with food and your body.
Trauma and PTSD: I am fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and am currently working toward full accreditation. This technique is integrated to help you safely process difficult memories.
Anxiety, Depression, and OCD: Providing comprehensive care and practical tools to manage symptoms and reclaim control over your daily life.
Beyond Specialisation: General Well-being and Growth
In addition to my specialised areas, I welcome clients seeking general counselling, personal growth, or support with self-development goals. Whether you are navigating a life transition, seeking clarity on your values, or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, I can provide a supportive and insightful space for your journey.
Support for Families and Culturally Sensitive Care
The struggles of eating disorders and addictions deeply affect loved ones. Drawing on my extensive experience, I offer specialized support and psychoeducation for the parents and caregivers of individuals battling these complex conditions.
As an immigrant, I also offer a unique level of cultural sensitivity for those experiencing expat life, relocation stress, and immigration challenges.
To ensure you have a comfortable and fully expressive space, I am fluent and proudly offer therapy sessions in both English and Spanish
