Sam Cracknell
BACPDip Counsellor
I am a qualified, BACP registered, psychodynamic counsellor, offering open-ended, in-person counselling in Surrey and Hampshire. I offer a warm, confidential space to explore the patterns and emotions shaping your life – helping you heal, grow, and live more fully.
I work psychodynamically, meaning my approach is grounded in the belief that lasting change begins with self-awareness. Together, we will work to bring unconscious thoughts and feelings into the light, helping you to develop insight, heal old wounds, and create more fulfilling ways of living and relating to others. Psychodynamic counselling works by helping you understand the underlying causes of your emotional distress and pain — often linked to past experiences, relationships, or long-standing patterns of thought and behaviour. By gently uncovering these deeper layers, you can develop new perspectives, reduce the power of anxious thoughts, and build lasting emotional resilience.
In our sessions we might explore:
- How early experiences influence your current feelings and reaction’s
- Unconscious fears or beliefs that fuel anxiety
- The connection between relationships and emotional triggers
- Practical coping strategies for calming your mind and body
My aim is to help you not only cope with challenges, but to create meaningful, lasting change – fostering self-understanding, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships. Our sessions will be a place for curiosity, honesty, and growth—always at your own pace. I believe you are the expert of your life, our sessions will be a place for curiosity, honesty, and growth.
