Shareen Rae-Sharma

MBACP, FdSc Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Hello, my name is Shareen and I am a registered counsellor and psychotherapist, a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), with experience in providing one-to-one therapy for adults 18+.

I have experience of working with individuals facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, domestic abuse, relationship issues, grief, bereavement, stress, and those feeling stuck, like outsiders, or limited by their past. My focus is on guiding clients through self-discovery, building resilience, and developing effective coping strategies to help them move forward.

I believe that a genuine and positive relationship between counsellor and client is essential for meaningful growth. I provide a safe, non-judgmental, and empathic space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to make positive changes in your life.

Choosing the right therapist is a significant step. I offer a no-obligation, 20-minute introductory session to discuss your goals, answer any questions, and determine if we’re a good fit.

Experience

I transitioned into counselling after a 15-year career in information technology, motivated by my own personal journey of growth and transformation.
Since then, I’ve supported clients across various settings, including a domestic abuse charity, where I provided assistance to individuals facing challenging circumstances. I’ve also worked with individuals struggling with substance use issues, such as alcohol and drugs, as well as those dealing with a broad range of mental health concerns.

Additionally, I offer bereavement support through a dedicated charity, helping individuals navigate the complex emotions surrounding loss.
