Couple Counsellor and Sex Therapist

Hello and welcome to my profile.

Relationship and/or sexual problems can be challenging and can have a profoundly negative effect self-esteem and life satisfaction.  I help couples and individuals address relationship struggles in effective ways.  I have specialist training in working with relationship and sexual difficulties including GSRD (gender, sexual and relational diversity).  I also work with sex and pornography addiction.

My approach to therapy is flexible, dynamic and proactive.  I will help you identify what you do well already, what you want to change and help you move forward towards your goals.  My attitude is warm, non-judgmental and inclusive.

I am an integrative therapist whose approach is systemic and relational, although I also use CBT and psychodynamic methods where appropriate. I treat everyone as a unique individual and am able to tailor my working style to suit their particular needs.

I understand that it can be difficult to choose a therapist so please feel free to contact me if you would like to ask any questions or to see if you can get on with me.  I would be pleased to talk to you about the possibility of working together.

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and follow theirs code of Ethics and my work is regularly supervised. It is important to me to keep up to date with developments in my chosen field and I am committed to continuing professional development.  I am fully endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Experience

I have worked with individuals experiencing trauma, loss, grief, anxiety, chronic pain, low self-esteem, eating disorders, personality disorders, work stress and anxiety, redundancy and with individual and couples experiencing relationship difficulties, trauma, sexual disfunctions, difficulties with in-laws, childhood sexual abuse and porn and sex addictions.

Prior to training as a therapist, I was a lawyer working both in the City and in Local Government.
