Hello and welcome to my profile.
Relationship and sexual difficulties can be deeply challenging and can have a significant impact on self-esteem, emotional wellbeing and overall life satisfaction. I work with individuals and couples who are struggling in their relationships and who want to better understand the patterns that may be creating conflict, confusion or disconnection.
Many of the people I work with feel stuck in recurring arguments, uncertainty in their relationships, or difficulties with intimacy and communication. Therapy can provide a supportive and reflective space to explore these patterns and develop new ways of relating that feel healthier and more fulfilling.
Areas of Specialism
• Couples experiencing anger, recurring conflict and communication difficulties
• Sex therapy and intimacy difficulties
• Compulsive sexual behaviours, including pornography use and sex addiction
• Differences in sexual desire within relationships
• Women’s sexual wellbeing, including issues relating to desire, libido and self-esteem
• Consensual non-monogamy and relationship diversity
• Attachment patterns and relationship dynamics
• The impact of ADHD on relationships and intimacy
Counselling Approach
My approach to therapy is relational, proactive and collaborative. I aim to help clients better understand their emotional and relational patterns while also supporting them in making meaningful changes in their lives and relationships.
I am an integrative therapist, drawing particularly on relational and systemic approaches, attachment theory, psychodynamic thinking and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I tailor therapy to each individual or couple’s needs.
I aim to create a warm, inclusive and non-judgemental environment where clients feel safe exploring sensitive or difficult experiences.
Choosing a therapist can feel daunting, so please feel free to contact me if you would like to ask any questions or see whether we might work well together.
Professional Membership
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) and follow their ethical frameworks.
My work is regularly supervised and I am committed to ongoing professional development.
I am fully endorsed by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
Experience
I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples experiencing relationship and sexual difficulties. Much of my work focuses on supporting couples who feel caught in recurring patterns of conflict, anger or communication breakdown. I help partners understand the emotional dynamics that shape their interactions and develop healthier ways of communicating, repairing conflict and strengthening their relationship.
I also work with individuals who feel uncertain, confused or distressed about their relationships more generally. This may include people who find themselves repeating similar patterns in relationships, struggling with intimacy or trust, or feeling unsure about the choices they are making in their relational lives.
I also work with individuals and couples experiencing sexual concerns, including differences in desire, intimacy difficulties, sexual dysfunctions and compulsive sexual behaviours such as pornography or sex addiction.
A particular area of interest for me is women’s sexual wellbeing, especially concerns relating to desire and libido. These experiences can significantly affect confidence, identity and relationship satisfaction, and therapy can help explore the emotional, relational and psychological factors involved.
I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and relationship structures, including consensually non-monogamous relationships, and have experience supporting clients in relation to gender, sexual and relational diversity (GSRD).
I also work with individuals and couples exploring how ADHD may be affecting their relationships, communication patterns, emotional regulation and decision-making.
Prior to training as a therapist, I worked as a lawyer both in the City and in Local Government. This earlier professional background contributes to my thoughtful and analytical approach when working with complex relational dynamics and life transitions.
