Liz Drenth
Prof.Dip.Psy C, MNCPS (Acc), BACP Individual Member, Counsellor
I am a pluralistic counsellor working in a person-centred way. I like to mix approaches as appropriate and necessary, but always include a psychodynamic approach. I work with adults (18+) facing a variety of challenges including: loss and bereavement, anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, relationship and family difficulties, loneliness, health-related issues, life transitions and stress.
I am warm, and my approach is rooted in genuine empathy. I like to listen and support others and helping them discover what they need. I work with my clients by helping them explore themselves and discover the root causes of the presenting issues.
Experience
I worked as a counsellor in an NHS GP practice and upon moving to Guildford joined The Eaves practice. I worked with clients with issues such as: anxiety, bereavement, bullying, depression, loneliness and stress. Before I became a counsellor I worked as a teaching assistant in an infant school, working with children with special needs. I started my career in nursing, many years ago, graduating as a Registered General Nurse from the Royal College of Nursing in 1994.
