MBACP (accred), MA, BSc (Hons) Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist
I am based at the Eaves in Guildford. I see both adults and young people (from age 10). I also offer couples counselling.
I provide a safe and confidential space to explore life’s challenges, problems and emotional difficulties. I believe that however difficult things may feel, with a regular, non-judgemental, empathic space to explore difficult feelings, things can feel better again. I am here to listen and help you make sense of why you might be feeling the way you are. Together we can work it through in a way that enables fresh perspectives and perhaps a new understanding of you. With this increased self-awareness, change and growth can result.
I am a BACP accredited registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor which means that I use many different theories and ideas within my work to ensure that your therapy is the right approach for you. I draw upon humanistic, existential, psychodynamic and cognitive behavioural concepts.
Before undertaking my therapist training I worked as a mental health nurse in the NHS for over 20 years with both adults and young people. I therefore have experience of working with people with a range of difficulties. These include depression, anxiety, bereavement, eating disorders, relationship troubles, self-harm, low self-esteem/self-confidence, women’s issues, stress. I have a particular interest and experience of working with women with post-natal depression and an interest in the emotional aspects of the peri-menopause/menopause. I also work with couples for both marital/relationship difficulties and parenting concerns.
20 years working as a Mental Health Nurse with adults, adolescents and children.

2 years volunteering at The Centre of Wellbeing at Surrey University.
3 years facilitating support groups for mothers with post-natal depression.
