MSc (Psych) & BACP (Accred)
Navigating your way through life can be overwhelming, especially if you’re feeling fragile or lacking in self-confidence. Trying to resolve internal/external issues with a chaotic mind is generally difficult to do on your own. Although resilience and resourcefulness is assumed to be inherent in us all, these instincts can often become buried under the complexity of modern day living.
Sharing your personal thoughts and feelings with an impartial counsellor can unravel the chaos and provide the freedom to think more clearly and create the capacity for coping better in the future.
My MSc in attachment studies has a particular focus on unresolved childhood trauma, especially due to abuse or neglect from narcissistic caregivers. I offer short term counselling, with a minimum of six weekly sessions, and open-ended long term therapy.
I appreciate therapy can be daunting, so rest assured, I will promote a calm and comfortable space to explore your concerns and help to identify their roots. Gaining an insight into ‘your needs’ can be a freeing experience and open up a whole new world of alternative thinking.
I am also a clinical supervisor and offer supervision to fellow therapists and anyone working within the mental health sector. My aim is to work collaboratively whilst offering a supportive space to explore and enhance your client work.
My main area of counselling has involved working with vulnerable veterans from the armed forces. I have dealt with a number of complex cases requiring sensitivity and a robust attitude.
