BA (Hons) MBACP Psychotherapeutic Counsellor
I’m a strong believer that, in the words of Nelson Mandela “there is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living” – yet sometimes life is really quite tough and we find ourselves struggling and this ideal seems far from our reality.
Over the last couple of years your life may have been disrupted by COVID-19, you may have found yourself feeling emotionally overwhelmed, anxious, lonely, trapped and even felt a huge sense of loss. Or, you may have been struggling for some time and haven’t found the motivation to address it but now that struggle may be feel a little bigger.
This is not the time to suffer alone, this is the time to reach out for support, a time to help and be kind to yourself. Counselling can help during these difficult periods it can offer you a confidential space to explore the strains you are facing and the impact they may be having on your relationships, work-life and wellbeing.
I’m an integrative-relational therapist which means that my theoretic approach will be guided by your needs. It may be that we spend some time looking at your childhood (Psychodynamic) or staying with your current experience of life (Humanistic and Person-Centred). My goal for you is that your therapeutic experience enables you to become aware of your Self and secure resources to live the life you deserve.
Feeling emotionally overwhelmed can be a lonely place and through our work and counselling relationship I will support you in addressing your current situation and possibly looking back at painful times from the past and how they might be limiting you now.
Counselling can be a really difficult process, for some acknowledging that they need counselling is hard, for others the work in the room can be challenging and painful. However, it can also be a positive freeing experience that brings about insight and awareness, a change in relationships and a personal sense of being.
Over the last decade I have worked in the public sector within a London workplace counselling service and a not-for-profit counselling organisation. I’ve also spent a long period of time working with both young adults and adults in an NHS environment.
My main area of work is within private practice where I work with clients who are experiencing, but not limited to the following
low self-esteem, trauma, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship breakdown, grief/loss, work place struggles and those feeling lost in life.
