Dr Kushangi Patel
DClinPysch, PGDip, Bsc (Hons)
I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience of working with a range of psychological issues in community and in-patient NHS settings. I have supported and worked with clients from a range of diverse backgrounds and have provided psychological intervention and guidance for a variety of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, PTSD and trauma, bereavement and loss, anger, adjustment and relationship difficulties. During my career I have worked and specialised with helping people cope with the impact of long-term physical health conditions such as cancer, chronic pain, cardiac and respiratory problems, neurological disorders and diabetes. My main therapeutic approaches are cognitive – behavioural therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) but I have been trained in and draw upon other evidence-based therapies which also inform my practice.
Apart from my clinical work, I am also available to provide supervision to practitioners. I have a post-graduate diploma in Clinical Supervision and have supervised clinical psychologists, counsellors and trainees throughout my career.
