BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist
A Cognitive Behavioural (CBT) Psychotherapist with an extensive background in working with individuals, families and communities experiencing emotional distress. I work with adults experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties such as Addictions, Disordered Eating, Trauma (PTSD), Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Depression (including post natal depression), Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Stress, Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Health Anxiety and Sex and Relationship problems.
My main approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and this is the recommended therapy for those experiencing anxiety or depression related problems by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence).
I work using a brief model of psychotherapy that can range from 4-20 sessions depending on the problem/s presented and as agreed in therapy. Although more long term therapy can also be facilitated. As a CBT therapist, I am active directive in sessions, and we work together in order to help you understand the nature of your problem but I teach ways in which to manage differently. Therapy is a joint commitment and I would aim to teach you to be your own therapist, developing knowledge and skills along the way.
You may wish to change a problem situation, or change the way you think or behave in a situation. You may wish to feel differently. Whatever your goals, we would work together in therapy to understand the nature of your problem and teach you alternative ways of managing.

Over 20 years’ experience of working within statutory and charitable organisations with individuals and families experiencing psychological distress. I have gained valuable experience working within residential and day provisions in addition to community settings. I currently hold clinics in the NHS alongside my private practice at The Eaves.
