Clinical Psychologist

I am a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with children, adolescents and families in both my private practice and with the NHS.

Experience

I work with young people aged from 8 – 18 years, integrating a wide range of effective therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy and systemic approaches. I specialize in short-term therapy and work flexibly depending on the needs, age and presenting issues but in essence what I do is talk with the individual about what’s troubling them. Together we use practical, solution-focused techniques aimed at getting to grips with the difficulties, regaining confidence and exploring new ways to cope. With younger children, I might use a variety of creative activities to help express and process their feelings and experiences. In some cases, parents become active supports to their child’s therapy through parent or family sessions. With adolescents, individual counselling sessions in a confidential and supportive environment enable new ways of understanding, of communicating and responding.
