Aimee Bishop

FdSc MBACP | Counsellor and Psychotherapist

Are you the one everyone leans on, but inside you’re exhausted and doubting yourself?

You’ve got everything together on the outside: you’re competent, caring, and capable. But on the inside it’s a different story.

The overthinking won’t stop.

The self-doubt is loud.

You feel drained by everyone else’s needs but struggle to say no without guilt.

And honestly? You’re tired of carrying it all.

I’m Aimee, and I help women who always put others first to finally start feeling confident, clear and back in charge of their own lives.

Space to untangle the overthinking, quiet the self-doubt, and feel more like you again.

You’ve been carrying a lot. Quietly holding in all the tension, guilt and overwhelm. Therapy gives you space to finally breathe and feel less alone with it all.

Maybe you’re:
• Caught in analysis paralysis, terrified of getting it wrong
• Constantly overthinking what you said/didn’t say/did/didn’t do
• Feeling guilty when you do prioritise yourself
• Always showing up for others but unsure how to ask for help
• Drowning in self-doubt, even though everyone else sees you as strong

This is the stuff I work with every day.

My clients are thoughtful, resilient and utterly fed up of living in their heads. They’re ready to stop surviving and start feeling calm, confident and in charge of their own lives.

My approach: gently challenging, deeply empowering, always trauma-informed

I offer a warm, grounded space where you don’t have to hide the messy bits. I’ll listen with care, reflect what I notice, and (when needed) lovingly call out the patterns keeping you stuck.

As a psychodynamic therapist, I help you make sense of the past and how it’s quietly shaping how you show up today, like in relationships, work, boundaries with friends, your inner critic, etc.

Think of it as putting the pieces of your puzzle together so you can stop repeating old patterns and start choosing something different.

We’ll go at your pace. There’s no rush and no pressure. Just honest, compassionate exploration that’s led by you and supported by me.

A Bit About Me

I’m not the kind of therapist who sits in silence nodding. I bring empathy, humour, insight (and the occasional well-placed swear word) to help you feel understood, not judged.

Alongside my private practice, I work in women’s prisons, supporting women through trauma, addiction recovery, and rebuilding a sense of self after life has knocked them sideways.

And before becoming a therapist, I spent nearly 20 years in the corporate world, so I get the pressure of trying to keep up appearances while quietly falling apart.

I’ve been in your shoes. I know what it’s like to feel like you’re too much and not enough, all at once. And I know that real change is possible because I’ve seen it, and I’ve lived it.

Ready to start?

I offer online sessions so you can access therapy from wherever feels safe and private.

If you’re ready to untangle the self-doubt, set boundaries without guilt, and finally feel confident in your own skin then book a free intro call today.

Let’s see if we’re a good fit to work together.

Experience

I have experience working with a range of presenting issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic abuse and addictions.

My experience in working in women’s centres and women’s prisons has given me a deep appreciation for the diverse challenges women who have been through past traumatic experiences face.

Whether you’re dealing with relationship patterns that keep bringing chaos, trying to build a life after trauma, or just know something needs to change but can’t quite figure out what – I get it. And more importantly, I can help.
