Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (BABCP), Psychologist (MBPsS), Counsellor (UKCP)
My goal is to provide a helpful and positive therapy experience for clients, where they feel safe, supported and understood. My approach is collaborative, tailoring the therapy to an individual’s specific needs.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which is my main speciality, provides clients with a very practical approach for addressing problems. It is very effective for issues including Generalised Anxiety Disorder, OCD, Health and Social Anxiety, phobias, panic and trauma. It can also be extremely helpful for health issues, work based pressures, interpersonal problems and low self esteem.
I provide both short and longer term therapy and other models used include Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance Commitment Therapy.
My experience includes working in a service for young adults, an alcohol and drugs service and with survivors of eating disorders. For the last 8 years I have worked for the NHS both in primary care and more latterly in two London Hospitals. The work in London focused on helping people psychologically within the context of their Chronic Fatigue (ME), Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis.
I have over 15 years of experience of helping adults with anxiety and low mood, tailoring the therapy to their unique needs.
