Aylin Webb

EMDR Therapist & Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, Psychologist, Neuro Coach (MSc, PgDip, MBABCP)

You may appear capable and successful on the outside, yet inside you may be overthinking, questioning yourself, feeling anxious, exhausted, or wondering why you keep repeating patterns you understand but cannot seem to change.

I am an experienced psychologist and BABCP-accredited CBT therapist, EMDR therapist and coach. I work particularly with women experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, low self-esteem, trauma, burnout, people-pleasing, guilt and shame, as well as difficulties with confidence, relationships and major life transitions.

A question that often sits underneath my work is: why do we sometimes keep making choices that we know are not right for us? We may know what we want, yet guilt, fear of disappointing others, old beliefs about who we “should” be, or a sense of responsibility for other people’s feelings can make choosing differently surprisingly difficult.

My approach goes beyond simply understanding why a pattern exists. Using CBT, EMDR and an integrative psychological approach, I help clients identify the beliefs and emotional patterns keeping them stuck and work towards meaningful, lasting change.

Therapy with me is collaborative, practical and compassionate, but I will also gently challenge patterns when this is helpful. My aim is to help you understand what keeps you stuck and work through the patterns that are holding you back, so you can feel more confident in yourself and the choices you make.

Experience

I have over a decade of experience working across private practice, NHS services, specialist mental health settings and higher education as a lecturer for CBT.

I established my private practice, Mind & Mood, in 2015. Previously, I worked as a CBT Psychotherapist and EMDR Therapist at The Priory Day Hospital, within NHS IAPT services, Brentwood Mind, and as an Assistant Psychologist at St Andrew’s Mental Health Hospital.

Alongside my clinical work, I have worked as a Clinical Supervisor and Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire and as an Associate Lecturer and Supervisor at Goldsmiths, University of London.

I have presented workshops at EABCT, developed “The Certificate in Essential CBT” for Health and Wellbeing Professionals, and host the psychology podcast “I am a Perfectionist, Get Me Out of Here!”. I am also the author of Perfectly Imperfect: Cultivating Self-Worth in a Demanding World and co-author of The Resilient Professional.
