Join Natalie for this Experiential Trauma-Informed Somatic & Polyvagal Training for Safe Therapeutic Practice.
This one day experiential CPD training will explores trauma-informed somatic practice through a polyvagal lens, supporting practitioners to work more safely and confidently with nervous system activation in clinical and relational spaces.
Grounded in nervous system awareness and embodied practice, the training explores how to support trauma work without overwhelming or re-traumatising clients.

- Trauma through a somatic lens
- Procedural memory and embodied survival responses
- Fight, flight, freeze and shutdown states
- Polyvagal-informed practice
- Neuroception
- The autonomic hierarchy
- Co-regulation
- Reciprocity
- Triggers and glimmers
- The vagal brake
- Therapist nervous system regulation
- Window of tolerance
- Titration and pacing
- Relational safety and embodied therapeutic presence
- Practical somatic interventions and nervous system tools
Training Style:
This is a gentle, experiential and reflective training combining:
- Teaching
- Embodied exercises
- Guided reflection
- Paired practice
- Clinical discussion
- Practical application
The training is intentionally paced with nervous system safety in mind. Participants will never be expected to disclose personal trauma experiences.

Who This Training is For
This training is suitable for anyone in a helping or healing profession including; counsellors, coaches, healing practitioners and facilitators. However, it is particularly suited to practitioners who feel aligned with:

Facilitator
Natalie McIvor is an integrative psychotherapist and somatic alignment practitioner who believes that healing begins when we come home to our bodies. Her work weaves together talking therapy, breath, movement and attunement, helping clients move out of their heads and into embodied safety. Natalie supports people in recognising dysregulation, grounding the nervous system and rediscovering what it feels like to live with balance, presence and flow.
