We had an brilliant time attending the Surrey Festival of Skills 2024! The event brought together students aged 14-18, eager to explore the wide range of learning and career opportunities available in Surrey, and we were thrilled to be part of this inspiring day.
At The Eaves Counselling and Psychology, we are committed to supporting mental health and well-being, and the festival gave us the perfect opportunity to meet with students who are passionate about making a difference in their communities. Throughout the day, we had the pleasure of speaking with many young people about the importance of mental health support in today’s world. We also shared information on how to pursue a career as a therapist, offering guidance on the training, qualifications, and pathways available to those interested in this rewarding profession.
It was encouraging to see so many students interested in learning about mental health services and exploring the possibility of becoming counsellors or psychologists. Our team was on hand to answer questions, share real-life experiences, and provide insights into the daily work of a therapist. We hope to have inspired some future mental health professionals!
The event also highlighted the importance of collaboration between Surrey’s educational institutions and the business community. Together, we can play a vital role in shaping the future workforce, not only by providing career opportunities but also by supporting the mental well-being of our local economy.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand, and a special thank you to the organisers of the Surrey Festival of Skills for creating such a vibrant and meaningful event. We look forward to continuing to support the next generation of therapists and promoting mental health awareness in Surrey.
