About Me

Sometimes we feel overwhelmed or possibly underwhelmed by everyday issues. Sometimes just talking to someone else can help. I am an Integrative counselling psychotherapist and can adapt my experience to your issue in a way that may be of help to you. In other words I can bring myself to your ‘page’ and try to understand what is going for you and how this affects your life. By sitting with you and hearing your story in your words, I get a sense of what it is like to be you and from this perspective begin to understand what is happening for you. This approach is called person centred and allows me to offer you a confidential, non-judgemental and empathic place for you to off load. We work together, alongside each other in a way that builds a relationship between us in which we feel trust. This trusting relationship will allow you to explore your inner thoughts in a way that you may not have experienced before. It is easy to lose sight of what is important to us in today’s world and when this happens we can become anxious and unhappy. Events too can take over our lives and leave us feeling out of control. Therapy is a way of addressing this imbalance and bringing our feelings back to a place where we can cope.

I work by drawing on knowledge from my Integrative training in several contemporary therapies (person centred, CBT, psychodynamic thinking, humanistic, existential),  but always place my awareness of what it is like for you as a client to be experiencing therapy first. So in this sense my approach is person centred.
