Madeleine Duncan-Booth

MBACP Counsellor

About Me

During the Covid-19 pandemic, I am offering counselling sessions via secure video link or telephone only.

I have a warm, caring and compassionate approach, offering a safe therapeutic environment for you.

Together we can explore and process your thoughts and feelings to help you find a way forward. Finding a new sense of self and direction can start to help you feel less stuck, less trapped by the past or worried for the future.

Sometimes we cannot find the words to really express the spectrum of emotions we are feeling. I also offer a creative way of working, which may enable you to gain alternative valuable insights that support your healing. This may take the form of using stones, shells, drawings or small objects.

I am a professionally trained integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), working within their ethical framework.

I offer counselling to individuals aged 16+.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts (in progress)
  • CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • CPCAB Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • CPCAB Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • CPCAB Introduction to Counselling Skills

I work as a counsellor in private practice in Farnham and Kingsclere (near Basingstoke).

During my training, I worked with survivors of rape and sexual violence at the charity Trust House in Reading. I have worked with them for over 3 years and continue to provide counselling sessions both there and at the SARC (Sexual Assault Referral Centre) in Slough.

I worked for the NHS for over 7 years within a rehabilitation team for patients recovering from a stroke. Being with patients and their families, at this challenging time in their lives, was a privilege. I recognised that I valued being able to sit with people through life-changing events and how much being listened to helped them.
