A Random Act of Kindness is a seemingly small act which can make a big difference to someone’s day.

“A person who has good thoughts cannot ever be ugly. You can have a wonky nose and a crooked mouth and a double chin and stick-out teeth, but if you have good thoughts they will shine out of your face like sunbeams and you will always look lovely.”
― Roald Dahl, The Twits

Random Acts of Kindness Week is from 18th – 22nd February 2019 and there are many things you can do to join in on spreading kindness. Not only does being kind make other people happy it also gives you those happy endorphins and encourages others to spread kindness wherever they go next.

Kindness doesn’t always have to be for other people either. You can also make a special effort to be kinder to the planet and to yourself. Below we’ve listed a few ways in which you can get involved with Random Acts of Kindness Week and create habits to take beyond.

Write Positive Post-it NotesGrab some Post-it notes and spend 5 minutes writing some words of kindness or positivity on them and leave them where positivity may be needed, e.g. at a bus stop, hidden in a book in the library, in the office, anywhere that may brighten someone’s day.

Use a Travel Mug instead of a Disposable one – Helping the planet by reducing the use of disposable cups is a small act of kindness that can make a big difference.

Hold a Door for Someone – Sometimes a moment out of your time can mean a lot to a busy person.

Clean your Room – An act of kindness to yourself should never go a-miss. A tidy room = a tidy mind.
